UPWARD
UPWARD MINISTRIES
We meet together every Sunday
10.30am - 11.30am, to learn about God and worship together.
We also take part in communion every second Sunday of the month.
KIDS Ministries
At Pillar we strive to create a safe and relaxed atmosphere for kids to learn about God. We believe it's important to strategically integrate our kids into the wider church body, as this helps them to explore and develop their own personal faith with Jesus. Our aim is that when they transition to adulthood, they have a strong foundation and are equipped to continue in their faith.
Due to the pandemic, at the moment kid's ministry looks slightly different to normal. Currently we have an area set aside where kids from school year 3 and up are led by a teacher in taking notes together whilst the sermon is being taught. This gives them an opportunity to learn together in a supported environment at the same time as the adults.
CREATION Fest
Creation Fest in Cornwall is a gospel-centred festival, brought to us by Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa in California. There's a great family holiday atmosphere along with teaching, music and activities for all ages, and we encourage members of Pillar to attend. We do not run church on this weekend, as you will find most of us in Cornwall!
Visit www.creationfest.org.uk for more information.
THE GATHERING
Each year a group of men attend The Gathering, run by CVM. This is a great event that is specifically created to allow you to feel comfortable to invite your mates from all different backgrounds.
We do not run church on this weekend, as half of the church will be away!
Visit thegatheringformen.co.uk for more information.
INWARD
INWARD MINISTRIES
We believe meeting together regularly to learn from and encourage each other is an important part of our Christian faith
Twice a year we meet together in a home group for 6 to 8 weeks to explore a book or series on a specific topic.
Our aim is that this would be a safe space for learning, discussing and sharing experiences.
Our vision for women's ministry is that we would be rooted and built up together in Jesus, so that we are unshakable amidst the storms of life. We aim for this to be a safe place for real fellowship and relationships, as we apply the Bible to every part of our lives.
We meet every 6 weeks for food, fellowship & to learn from God's word together.
This is for women (members) 18+. We pause this when COGs is being run.
Our ethos around FELLAship is that we openly acknowledge the difficulties that christian men face in society today. We aim to build real fellowship and genuine relationships, as we study and apply the Bible to our lives.
Following the example of Christ, we also focus on loving our families and those we serve sacrificially like Christ. Our men's ministry group meets every 6 weeks for food, fellowship & God’s Word.
This is for men (members) 18+. We pause this when COGs is being run.
ANNUAL RETREAT
Once a year we hold a church retreat where the focus is on creating a friendly, fun enviroment to learn about God and spend quality time with each other.
Spending the weekend together as a church family is a great way to develop new relationships and build on existing ones - as well as having fun together!
COUNSELLING
"But the Counsellor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things..." John 14:26
We believe that God has designed the church to walk alongside and help individuals at difficult times in their lives.
This is why we are investing in professionally recognised (both within the NHS and the church) trained counsellors to be able to serve the body the best way we can.
This is available for members if they need a listening ear, mediation, counselling, marriage development etc.
OUTWARD
OUTWARD MINISTRIES
We believe that being involved in the community is a vital part of living out our faith. We run community events to build relationships with people in our local area and to show them God's love.
Some examples of our outward events are craft, calligraphy and flower arranging workshops, canoeing, bowling, and Christmas carol services. We aim for these to be a comfortable setting to invite friends and family
